Promoting British Values

At Reigate Valley College, we are committed to promoting the fundamental British values that help our pupils develop into respectful, responsible and active members of modern British society.

We encourage all pupils to understand and value democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Through our curriculum and wider school experiences, pupils are given opportunities to develop an understanding of the diverse society in which we live.

We encourage our pupils to respect people of all faiths, cultures and backgrounds, recognising that individuals may have different beliefs, opinions and ideas about what is right and wrong. At the same time, pupils learn about the importance of the rule of law and understand that everyone living in England is expected to respect and abide by the law.

By promoting these values throughout school life, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge, understanding and confidence they need to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society.
